Huge Weekend of Motorsports coming up at COLO MOTORSPORT PARK

6/16/2016

Colo Motorsport Park is hosting the first NSW round for Off Road Karts. They are a new part of the Off road racing scene and will be the first CAMS (Confederation of Motorsport) sanctioned event in Australia for these machines. It will be good to see them running on the special track, built for them at the Park. The whole race track is easily viewed from the spectator area, with practice starting on Saturday 18th at 10am. Racing begins at 11am.

At the Northern end of the property, the Driver Training will be taking place from 8am through to11.30am. Driver Training is a great opportunity to learn car control at lower speeds, but can be enjoyed in everything from a standard car through to purpose built specials. DRIVER TRAINING is a non-competitive event and is open to persons over 12 years of age. After the lunch break the KHANACROSS events begin at 1.30pm. These are tests designed to test the acceleration, braking and general manoeuvrability of their vehicle & the judgement of the driver. Great fun for young and old to take part in and can be done with a road registered car. The Driver Training & the Khanacross are both part of the Come and Try day initiative started by CAMS to improve road driving skills & also introduce people  of all ages to motorsport in general.

Sunday racing begins at 8am. Off Road Karts are first away on their purpose built track, followed by the first heat of the Off Road Buggies for the weekend. There will be four heats of 3 laps by the buggies on the shortened (to 4.7km) COLO off road course. Going to be some tight racing throughout the Sunday, with the excitement coming to a head after lunch in the finals.
COLO MOTORSPORT PARK is located 60Klms from the Windsor bridge, up the Putty road. It is 19Klms from the COLO HEIGHTS Service station on the right hand side.  The Canteen will be operating both days with Spectating, parking & camping free of charge. The Canteen even does a Saturday evening dinner if you decide to stay the night.

Come up and check it out. If you need more info about any of the above ring Ian  0407 774 348. Maybe to get involved in the Driver Training and /or Khanacross
