Off-Road Racing is a format of racing where various classes of specially modified vehicles (including cars, trucks, and buggies) compete in races through off-road environments.
Off-Road Racing in Australia is conducted under the guidelines of Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS).
The courses and tracks used are often narrow, twisting, tree lined tracks, undulating farmland tracks, mountain tracks and river crossings, sometimes incorporating man mad jumps and other obstacles.
Off-Road Racing is an exciting and adrenaline filled discipline of motor sport and is growing in statue with an increasing number of competitors looking to take up the challenge.
Off-Road vehicles are some of the most impressively engineered in Australian Motor Sport and most incorporate complex, long travel suspension systems and powerful engines to enable them to negotiate the rugged, dusty and sometimes muddy terrain they encounter as fast as possible.
There are a number of different classes of competition with vehicles ranging from purpose built buggies with engines up to 6000cc to modified 4WD vehicles. Except for the single seater's all vehicles consist of a driver & navigator team. The endurance aspect of the racing makes each course a test of driver skill and mechanical preparation.
Off-Road Racing provides everything from introductory events for beginners right up to State level competition for the more seasoned off-road veteran’s.
Off-Road Racing provides a great atmosphere and a sense of community, where you can meet new friends who share the love of an exciting motor sport.
